Single Frequency Raman Fiber Amplifiers
MPBC’s Raman Fiber Amplifier System is capable of amplifying a narrow, linearly-polarized, NIR input signal with minimum spectrum broadening. NIR output powers of up to 15 Watts at wavelengths between 1030 nm and 1370 nm can be achieved in our standard air-cooled enclosure, with higher power available upon demand with our water-cooled enclosure.
In addition, MPBC offers the option of converting the NIR signal into the visible region using our Second Harmonic Generator. Visible power up to 2 W is achievable for various wavelengths.
The SF System consists of three modules:
- Raman Fiber Amplifier: Based on single-mode polarization-maintaining fiber, the RFA accepts a narrowband seed signal and amplifies it to a high power with minimum spectrum broadening
- Ytterbium Fiber Laser: Provides a high-intensity linearly polarized pump light needed for Raman Amplification
- Second Harmonic Generator (Optional): Converts the frequency of the amplified signal to the visible spectrum with high efficiency
