M-NANO 50 mJ Nd:YAG DPSSL Ultra Compact (laser head w/ separate 19" driver)


Palm-sized, uniquely compact 50-mJ-level, pulsed Nd:YAG laser head with external 19”-rack control unit.  This extremely small laser head is suited for space-constrained and handheld applications.  This product consists of a laser head which includes the laser diode, and a separate 19”-rack controller & driver unit (included).

This extremely small laser head is suited for space-constrained and handheld applications (total weight ~0.65 kg for the laser head alone contained inside).  While this system is delivered primarily into laboratory applications as a fully functioning unit consisting of 19"-Controller and the laser head (mounted within external housing, connected via 2.5m long pipe to the controller), it may also serve as a platform for testing the integration into space-constrained applications.  The laser can be triggered internally (0...100Hz) or external by an external TTL pulse trigger signal into 50 Ohms. 

Benefits:  In contrast to existing flash-lamp-pumped Nd:YAG technologies, this laser is laser-diode-pumped and the conductively cooled laser diode stack is included in the laser head. Not only the compactness but also lower electrical power consumption, lower weight, maintenance-free operation and improved beam quality, divergence and focussability are achieved and result in improved application results.

Applications:  The compactness and low weight enable applications that were not possible with existing flash-lamp pumped technologies, including handheld applications and other applications with critical space and/or weight constraints.  Applications of these compact  laser sources include – besides scientific applications - laser analytics, LIBS (Laser-induced break-down spectroscopy), optical component damage testing, PIV (Particle image velocimetry), LIDAR (Light detection and ranging), etc.  Applications include analytics, LIBS, Defense, LIDAR, nonlinear optics, optical damage testing, amplification, etc.Both units are connected via a 2m high-current and control cable.  The laser head can be integrated in the user’s setup and needs to mounted onto a cold sub-mount (supplied by the user) via a TEC Peltier element (included).
